EK Gas pedal limiter can be removed for another 3/4 more inches of throttle travel.
While I was installing a set of MOMO Pedals I ran into a problem with this metal box welded onto the back of the Gas Pedal. Apparently it limited how far u could mash the gas into the ground, and it also disallowed the throttle body butterfly from opening to a full 100%. Id say stock you could only go as far as about 80%. So after I choped that chunk of metal off I could literally Floor the gas. I used a hack saw blade and a 1/4 drill bit to get it off. If u have a Dremel tool it should take 15 mins. I swear this simple mod helped my car accelerate faster, and it sounds better too. Go give it a look see for yourself.
Take out your driver seat too it will make removal much easier.

If you had a problem with throttle travel you know you could have adjusted the cable on the intake and not hacked up the floor? Also if the throttle is opened too much you can do damage to the throttle body. In any case you should have done more research before you broke out the hack saw
i've never seen any 6th gen Civic(or ANY other car for that matter)that couldn't fully open the throttle plate with a properly adjusted throttle cable.no manufacturer is going to only let you get partial throttle-especially in a 100HP car.

Well the original plan was to simply install the pedals. The metal block behind the pedal was removed ONLY to allow the screw and bolt to fit. Noticing that my throttle was able to open further and therefore allowing me to THINK i was going faster was all coincidence. And yes i did look at the throttle body butterfly and it did NOT open all the way up. I didnt bother adjusting the cable because i didnt know there was a problem. I figured it was designed to have slack in the cable so it would not be Taught all the time. I also didnt hack up the floor. I cut a 1 inch peice of metal off the back of the gas pedal. As far as damageing the throttle body. There is a Mechanical LIMIT on it not go past 100% What kind of damage are u talking about?
that block is probably there so that when properly adjusted, the throttle cable will allow full throttle right at ro before the pedal bottoms out.i'd say now that with a properly adjusted cable, you'll be smashing the throttle and hitting WOT well before the pedal bottoms out, possibly stretching/breaking the cable.

Now that does make sense. Im sure that is what it was for now that I think of it. Ok u win.
