I "hear" about this insurance that you can get for your car if you ONLY drive it on the weekends...People say it's cheaper...Right now, my insurance for my R is off the roof...(like close to 400/month) for full coverage...Is it possible for me to just insure my R ONLY for the weekend and use a beater for the weekdays to go to work??? Please enlighten me on this type of coverage and how low may I pay??? Thanks....By the way, I have State Farm Insurance...

SF has a "pleasure" class - might be what you heard about. Hope you have another car on your policy, because they're not going to let you do it with just one. My Type R is listed as pleasure, but I don't know how it affected my rates. My insurance is around $100 for full coverage on the R and good coverage on two other vehicles.

But, like he said, call your agent. Only way to find out for sure.


[edit] Ah, read more of your post. 1) Buy a beater to get multi-car discount. 2) Take out renters/homeowners/life insurance with SF to get multi-line discount. I'm assuming you have points on your license if you pay that much in NC. [/edit]

But they always make the highest premium vehicle the primary.... bastards.
