I have a 90 hatch with z6 block y8 head p08-1 JDM head

When vtec crosses over there is smoke coming from the exhuast. The block was supposedly rebuilt in aug 2003 i have no clue on the head. I have a leaking oil pan so I can not tell what the oil consuption is. Does anyone else have a smoking issue when in vtec?

I am running obd-1 p28 with dinan chip

What color smoke are you seeing at the crossover? Is there any smoke on startup on any other times?

 

no smoke any other time only when it crosses over the color is blackish blueish

black is fuel
blue is oil

but what I am asking is is this normal?

 

what are you running for this? is it a stock y8 ecu? if its not, that could explain it.

Well from my experience with my b16a if I am on it pretty hard and running it into VTEC I tend to get a puff of black smoke occasionally but no blue smoke or anything.
