pass smog w/ 4-1? (in CA)

Has anyone passed smog with a jdm 4-1 and a hi flow cat (in California)? Seems like it shouldn't be too much worse than stock. And what about passing visual without the heat shield?

With out the heat shield? I don't think it would the best idea...

Get a heat shield and pray the cat works fine.
