Here are some pictures of the exhaust system that me and my dad created one weekend. It is a 2" piping from a 4-2-1 header system. One weekend and 200 bucks got me a few extra HP.

i dont see a gasket on the cat

Yeah, I went to a junkyard and got some OEM flanges from a 96-00 civic and used them. They are the flanges with the "ball-joint" style gasket. Also an important detail is that my car is a 97 LX civic and has the Y7 motor so the cat was relocated further down the exhaust system than stock. All was fun though.

 

what kind high flow cat is that? how is the sound overall

 

Well, it is not really a Hi-Flow cat. I went to NAPA down the street form me and bought a universal cat from them. As for the sound it is really deep and LOUD. I have a Db meter and from 15 inches, distance the state of Cali tests, and at 4500 RPM's it is 115Db. The legal limit is 95Db. It is loud but overall worth it.
