any tips before i swap civic chassis?
well i thought my civics cancer was only cosmetic, went to a body shop to get and estimate and it turns out that the "top box" where the rear lca mounts to the body is rotted out on both sides. the repair bill would have been over 6k cdn after paint.
so i decided to hunt for another civic since ive been so happy with my current one. i found a 1990 cx hatch with no rust and front fender door damage, crappy interior, and no motor and trans for $400 cdn. the rest of the body is straight and perfect.
so i will be swapping in my interior, motor, trans and suspension. but before i do anyone got any tips i should do while its stripped? ie. running my stereo wiring under the carpet while its all out.
should now be a good time to get poly bushings? add sound deadner? remove sound deadner? (if there is any)
especially for rust prevention so the new civic doesnt turn into my current one.

When you swap your motor, you could clean up a few things in the engine bay a little easier. Hiding wires, removing components that don't really do anything. This would give your engine bay a cleaner look.
I would def run any kind of wires inside when you have the interior out. So much easier and faster.
I can't really think of anything else right now.

what are the components that dont do anything in the engine compartment?
ill definatly try and hide the wiring harness in the engine compartment.

Dude... you're in Surrey, same as me.
Where in the heck did yuo find a clean civic like that for 400??? I can't find a decent shell anywhere!
Anyways, just make sure you remove all the crappy stock trim on the wheelwells and hose it out regularly. That and park the car in a garage.
