Default d16 tranny jumping?

My problem is that the trans(auto) or the engine just seem to STOP while driving. It's an audible difference, and at the same time I can feel it sort of "jump"

Any ideas why this might be?

My trans seems to have too much fluid in it, but I don't think this is the cause since it started doing this about a month ago. But when it STARTED doing it, I heard a loud BAM... what could THAT be? I'm just needing this car to not breakdown right now, as it's my only working car right now that's safe enough for the road, and that seems to be changing more all the time.

93 ex civic by the way.
