Does anyone know how to put on a flywheel and clutch the rigth way?
Hey guys im' about to take the Flywheel and clutch off my Y8 and put it on a Z6. My question is... Is there a proper way to do it or do I just bolt it up? A friend of mine told me i would need an alignment tool but his description was kind of vague, anyone know more about it and abotu the process?
Read more about what you're doing first, sounds like you have no idea which is not good. Without an alignment tool you are going to ruin your disc and the trans is not going to mate back up with the engine.
the clutch alignment tool ensures that the splies match up correctly when you put the clutch on. You may be able to do it w/o one, but why? I've never put a used clutch on, only new clutches & they always cme w/ the tool. GL.
usually you get an alignment tool wth a new clutch, i always save the ones i get to make sure i got a tool for any clutch i may repalce in the future.
in the past though i was able to do pretty well with a socket or ratchet handle instead of the tool.

except for the oem honda ones.
that's when you buy a clutch from autozone, use the alignment tool and then return it.

that's the best thing you can, along with any other service you may do to your car.with a good manual you don't have to worry about waiting fro a reply from somebody who doesn't even necessarily know what they're talking about.

Just dont force anything that doesn't feel like it wants to go and walk away if you need to take a break. It's better than breaking a disc or messing up the threads on your trans. I've seen people do this before that's the only reason I say it.
