I'd definitely pay $400 for +25 HP on a Type R.

This guy is a ******* retard. Does anyone else realize that a JDM DC header will not make 25 HP on any motor I don't care what the **** it is. You are a ******* joke. Only header that will make power like that are custom headers.
And lose the attitude asshat I was telling you for your own benefit so you don't cry about wasting your paycheck onlike 5 whp.

a header plus test pipe wont give me around 25 hp? dc header for gsr says 12-14 hp...dc header for itr has larger primaries, plus a 2.5" collector, so i figure it will yield more power. and taking out my cat should give me about 5-10 hp...so i guess it will give me about 25hp tops...if you dont want me wasting my paycheck, then give me some links and useful help, instead of just saying that it wont work...i know just this header wont give me 25hp...but add a test pipe and i think i have a good chance
Even if we are talking flywheel horsepower there is no way that is happening. You are using DC Sports power increase claims as your basis for that statement?
You have to realize something. People will tell you anything to sell you stuff. Even if that means exaggerating the truth. Go find a GSR member on here that has a DC header and test pipe and I am positive you will not see those gains.
Hytech, SMS, DTR.....those headers make that kind of HP with test pipes. And those are 1000 dollar headers. I think you are being very unrealistic.

****, i was hoping that wasnt the case...isnt that illegal? like false advertising? ("People will tell you anything to sell you stuff. Even if that means exaggerating the truth...") well do you guys think atleast its a good header for the money ive got then? or atleast a good game plan? what would you do?
while i would assume it's technically illeagal, i'm sure they can find a way to twist their tests or their statements to make it "true"..
but yeah, I wouldn't expect more than 8 or so HP..
and yes, for the price, the DC JDM 4-1 is good bang for the buck.. want to get more gains? pay more and get a nicer header..

okay, so after looking at the great header test http://bob123e.tripod.com/theg...x.htm , i see that the stock itr header made 176hp...while the JDM itr 4-1 header made 185 hp...what is the difference there? usdm vs jdm? and so the dc jdm 4-1 makes 187hp for $345 and the $1000 headers make 190hp...i know the more costly headers will probably make a more useful powerband...but is it worth the extra $600 for a daily driver/ twice a month track car? i dont really think so...
the extra $600 decision is totally yours..
i myself have a DC JDM 4-1 on my track only car.. why? because the gains were decent enough for now and I could use that $600 elsewhere while building my car..
someday I'd like to squeeze out a few more ponies with a nice SMSP unit or something, but I'm happy with what I got..
USDM header is not a 4-1, and has a different design as a result.. ie, more restrictive.. the JDM is freer flowing.. outlet diameter is also different..
