ls/type r block?? instead of turbo??
this kid i know says that i shouldnt get turbo cuz it costs too much, and instead i should get a type r block and then basically i would be the fastest car in town...this kid is full of bs all the time, but ive heard random comments on this and was just wondering what all of you geniuses out there thought
he says id be getting the same horsepower as a type r, but id have a much lower compression ratio because its an ls...
i dont really know too much about this stuff, but this guys car is practically falling apart..and i dont really trust him.
thanks for any info/input!

Well you should definatley NOT put your LS head on the ITR block. Your best bet if you are going to go te hybrid route is to put a VTEC head on your LS block. Search and get some more info.
if u got the c5 instead of turboing u'd be making about the same amount of power. and it defantally wouldn't be the quickest in town. LS turbo= lower compression and very reliable hp if done correctly. b18c5= high compression, good all around NA platform.
Also look at it in this way. Turbo kit 3-4k, b18c5 3500-4500...take a pick.

i know i wont be the fastest, that kid is nutz, i was jw what would be a better, more reliable way to increase my power...
i really dont want to have to deal with a lot of repairs and break downs..
