Default Re: block guards (bugster)

Blockguards do 2 things:
1. They aid in preventing sleeve walk which occurs at high RPM. Sleeve walk can cause premature headgasket failure due to the sleeves moving because of piston side loading when in the upper RPM range.

2. A good blockguard will help prevent the stock sleeves from cracking. It is not a cure all for sleeve crack, but it does help. Our block guard has a tapered bottom for ease of install.

You almost always have to get your block re-honed AFTER installing a block guard. If you have the $, then sleeving your motor is the best choice, but a block guard will definately help you out for a mild street motor

Let us know, we have block guards in stock and ready to ship. For more info, visit http://www.goldeneaglemfg.com
