Default Stock Tach or Autometer Tach more accurate???

Well, I have a 90 DA and just put in my Autometer Phantom Tach, I just tapped into the blue wire that goes to the harness on the cluster. Tach works fine, shift light work and everything, but its a little off from the stock one. Its fine at idle, like 2 or 300 off at when at about 2K, and than rev limiter on the autometer is about 6200 or 6400ish and on the stock it hits a little over 7K, why would this be? Am I better off just connecting my autometer tach to the wire under the hood and it'll be like 1 inch from the dizzy? Well, its a weird problem and thought I'd see if anyone else ran into this problem before

6,800 I thought. Pretty sure that's what my old 90 used to cut out at.

Autometer tach is hands down the better one. I have a JDM XSi tach (8.2krpm redline), and an Autometer 5" tach. The Autometer is dead on as far as redline and fuel cut...well at least fuel cut.

i had a pivot racing tach, with the shift light set at 6200 rpms. That would pop on right when my stock tach said 7000. While at the same time my S-AFC would say something like 6500. I don't know what to believe. I no longer have the pivot tach

I remember when I had my CRX, the stock tach was 500 RPMs BEHIND the Autometer

The higher the RPMs went up on the stock tach, the more innaccurate it got. At about 0 to 4000RPM it seemed fine, but after that it was just retardedly off

Same thing with the... the stock one seems fine in the low RPM's, once it shoots up, forget it, its way off. I have my Autometer set at 5500K, I think rev limiter hits on it like 6500 or something around there, haven't paid complete attention
