my dealer will give out the code for free, if you show the stereo and of course, the car is legit.
try to call up couple other dealer in your area, you don't even need to drive there, just give them the serial code and they can give you the number.
do that before you pay them..
the code is in the back of the stereo and in number of place in the car.

With both of my local dealers (one in PA one in DE) you need to give them the serial number or reference code and the registration papers. It was free tho!
