cooling problem? car gets cold while driving

like i said, i can let the car sit and get warm enuf to make the fan cut on, and when i go drive it for 5 mins, its already cold
, changed the thermostat cuz i figured it was stuck open but still does it with the new one. any hep would be appreciated. thanks

lol yea, i was just kiddin man not bein an *** but i dunno if it does or not cuz im just breaking in my engine so i havnt gotten on it at all. but it gets so cold u can grab the hoses and they arent even warm hardly

Have you checked the coolant.
It should be mixed 50/50 (Water|Antifreeze(coolant). If the coolant is really old too it loses strength.

how many miles you got on the motor so far?
i assume he has new coolant if hes in a break in process.

oh i thought you might have been like up into like 1200 miles and i was gonna say, wtf havn't you hit VTEC yet y0. lol. anyways...i would just change the thermostat for now, thats the only thing i can fathomn making the coolant stay cool like that.

yea but the one i took out wasnt stuck open and the new one is str8 from honda, engine is gsr bottom end, AEBS sleeves, arais pistons, eagle rods, moroso oilpan, stock ITR head, gsr cams, b16 waterpump. just in case anyone asks, and yea coolant is new lol
Your hoses aren't hot, do they have anything in them though? Like are they hard to squease? If not, did you check the radiator cap? Pressure test the system? Maybe your system can't keep pressure and/or you have some air in it. If you get an air pocket on your sensor it wont read ****.
My EM1 does weird **** like that. It can sit there and idle and the temp comes up to the half way point, fan comes on, temp drops a bit and the fan shuts off. The temp always hovers around the halfway point.
Now if I start to drive the temp needle goes all the way down to cold but I still have heat. I'm guessing my temp sensor is jacked up.
When you say that your coolant gets cold, do you get heat inside? You might be having the same problem as me.

you have a jacked up sensor in there. After driving the car for a while (15-20 minutes, check the heat. and then pop the hood and check your upper and lower radiator hose. The upper hose should be damn hot and you should have a pretty tough time squeezing it. When you do squeeze it you should hear your thermostat clicking. Your lower hose should also be warm to the touch. You should be able to keep your hand on it without it burning the hell out of unlike the top hose.
Hmmm, strange. Here's kind of a dumb idea for you. Are you sure you put the t-stat back in the right way? It's been a while since I've done one so I'm not sure if you can flip them backwards or not.
Uhmmm, other than that it sounds like you have a restriction in there somewhere. Either that or you have an airlock problem. Did you burp the system properly when you filled it up after changing the stat? If you have air where you water pump is you're not going to be moving any water. Having ir in your cooling system would also cause your temp sensor to not ready correctly if there's an air pocket where the sensor is. If I was you I'd drain and refill the system properly and see what happens.

that is crazy. my car is like everyone elses though it gets warm if i am just driving on regular roads and stuff once i kick the heat on it goes all the way to a quarter even if i am driving it on the interstate.

It would open but he'd get some shitty flow rates. But I agree that the car SHOULD overheat.
