Default swapping alternators between obd1 and obd2

Alright here's my issue. I was gonna put a y5(HX) head on my z6 shortblock in my EG8 in the z6 head is warped but the dist. mounts are completely different. Now I have a y7 dist but would I be able to just swap the connectors from a obd1 dist on to the obd2 dist and make it work? Don't ask why a y5 head it's a long story and I'm curious...

so are you trying to interchange the distributor or alternator?

either way, both are interchangeable between OBD 1 and 2
do a search, you will get the wiring info
