Default Can this be fixed???

Just ripped my block apart and two of my cylinder walls are chipped at the bottom. Can this be fixed? Aftermarket sleeves are not a option, ima poor college student.

I would get an answer from a pro, but since the pistons doesnt come down that far I would say its fine the way it is.. What happend to your block to do something like that, did you break a rod?

I'd look into what caused it in the first place and make sure it never happens again. Looks like the connecting rod separated from its cap or something?!? Then make sure there aren't any hairline fractures in there. There are some dyes available for this, usually for checking a possible cracked head but I guess it would work just as well on a cylinder wall. Last of all file it down a bit to make it smooth so your sure you don't get detached metal parts floating around when all is said and done. Hone or bore your cylinders and hope for the best. Should be alright if the damage is limited to what you see here, your rings don't go that far down.
