Seatback bracing questions..
Ok.. So a long time ago when I started putting the car together I bought a Corbeau Forza seat.. then about a month later the FIA pulled their homolgation, apparently due to them not paying the FIA or something..
Anyhow, I spoke with them and they still maintain they have no idea when they'll be re homolgated.. so I have to do one of the following:
1) use a seatback brace
2) buy a different seat and hope I can sell this one
the problem is that I'm not quite sure how to brace the seat, since it's a steel frame, not a steel backed seat.. based on stuff I've seen from ioport and users on here, their solutions have been for steel backed seats..
any ideas?

i put my seat back brace on a fiberglass backed seat, its passed DE tech numerous times

I'd say that you should dump that seat (ebay is your friend there) and get either an aluminium seat (think Kirkey and others) or a fiberglass seat. That will solve your problem.
I am assuming this is for a race car with a full cage, blah-blah-blah. I wouldn't trust a steel frame seat with my body on a race track, but that's just me.

well, with the FIA cert I figured that was a good sign.. so much for that..
kirkey is a good option, but that will require a brace as well, correct? that or some bling bling fiberglass seat..
hmm.. thank you for the advice/input!

fiberglass doesn't have to be bling-bling.
look at this
$260 + shipping from one of the best guys around for customer service. Brand spanking new. For the price of two R-compunds, you've got yourself a pimpin' new fiberglass seat, no brace required.
Edit: it's even cheaper than i had thought

funny, i had been looking at that seat earlier this week when I thought this was going to be a problem(and hadn't called Corbeau yet like I did today)..
I was just trying to figure out if it's bottom mount or sidemount.. I'd like to try to use the corbeau brackets I already have.. I kinda like them actually..

I have a different Corbeau seat, but I'm thinking about the same thing... however instead of selling it, I was considering moving it to the passenger side for DEs.
That momo is pretty inexpensive... anyone ever sit in it. I'm not necessarily "comfortable" with the idea of buying another seat without sitting in it. Anyone know a place near the Philly area that actually has seat in stock?
