High mileage motor with Turbo?
I have a D16Z6 with 120k miles on the motor. Will it be ok to run boost with a Greddy turbo setup daily-driven? It will only be around 6 psi and the motor has stock internals.
depends on the condition of the motor.
One of the b18a1's that I have has 12X,XXX miles on it or something like that, my compression test results were 180, 181, 180, 181. My 95 b18b1 has 185 across the board with no dip. They are in great condition for turbo.
Do a compression test, I heard you should do Leak down too but I don't have the tester so I couldn't. The comp. tester is like 20 bucks, most auto stores should carry em.

Would maintenance require anything special or do you just treat it like a normal Honda?

My oil gets changed about eveyr 5k on Mobil1 supersyn.
Other than that it gets driven just like it did on the first turbo setup and the NA setup between them.
Warm it up before I beat on it and let it idle for about 20 seconds before I turn it off.

I have 134,000+ currently on my d16z6, with a greddy turbo kit, and its daily driven. I've ran it at 7 psi for the last 15,000 miles with no problems and it runs like a champ!
*knocks on wood*
If your motor has no problems i'd say go for it.

do any of you guys have headlifting issues?
i've been boosted for about 7 months now. i first started at ~3psi (tuned) with no problems. then i upped the boost to about 7psi (tuned), making 200whp and the head started to lift. mind you, i have never seperated the block or head before, so i never messed with the headstuds or anything. my compression numbers are the same as they were when I checked them 7 months ago (185psi). the weird thing is that the overflow will fill up (i've seen it happen on the dyno), but my car doesn't overheat. i'm stumped.

Actually I've been thinking about it... just to see how long I could do it... Probably more hazardous than just blowing my engine though... so I'm thinking maybe not.
And the bolts that the valve cover doesn't really have are still in there so that it seals, but you can easily pull them out with two fingers.
