Longest Time in VTEC
You ask as if its a bad thing for the engine or something. Its not boost buddy...just a bigger cam
I don't know about continuously....but from columbus ga,where I bought my car, to norfolk va...I guess about 9 or 10 hrs, with stops for gas/food/cigs/ect....and like 3 radar detactor alerts. A fun drive esp. considering it was the first time I drove it. Prob not the most intellegent thing I ever did. Actually it was pretty dumb. I should have died.
Longest time in VTEC:
30 minute sessions with CGI at Gingerman. Minus a few minutes for driving in the paddock area. So I would say approximately 25 mins.
For my car (stock engine), the oil level was very stable. No sign of burning oil or increase in oil consumption. I guess it depends on how the engine was broken in.

Well, it does increase your oil consumption..

Cars get better cooling at speed than stop and go driving. I road race and my 12V SOHC 1.5L engine is between 6000-8000 for 30 minutes and the fan is never on, even in 90+ degree weather. If you were to funnel the air to the radiator better it would cool more effectively.
BTW to the best of my knowledge, the style of oil cooler that is on the ITR was first used on the 85 CRX Si. However, you'd do your engine a favor if you got a large oil cooler if you plan to run a lot of track events.

no overheating problems. Hell it was in the summer time too. 30 degrees Celsius. 70% of the time the engine was under boost (JRSC @ 5.5psi) ...............hhhhmmmmmm, when I remember back my car was running fine until I upgraded to 8psi.....I wish I had never done it. 11.1:1 cr and 8psi don´t fit together.

30-45 minutes probably... 50-60 times. 5-6 hours, 1-2 times (driving to NC and back on two different occasions with a radar detector, at 100mph)
No, but I did sit in it for a while last night and decided the tubing which the seat bolts too has to come out and relocated so I can lower the seat/me in the car. Actually the engine will probably get pulled this week if I'm lucky. I know of some long Carillo rods that are available, I hope to have some fun with it this year since it never hit the track last year. I have 4 spare heads that I plan to try something a little different with each. I want to face the intake flange back and at a slight angle to try and get a straighter shot down to the valves for the carbs. Will probably try it on the exhaust side also and hope the change is significant enough to warrant a tube angle change coming off the head. Maybe I'll be able to break the engine in at one of your track events come this spring? However, there is no passenger seat just a bar in that area.
Last Summer 6 hours in VTEC range on my trip to Holland.
Last spring 1,5h at topspeed from Freiburg to Frankfurt.
No problems, the R likes it and felt way better after the trips..

we have no speed limit on the biggest Autobahns.... It`s normal. If you don`t hit the throttle than you have to care for your *** because the next BMW comes from behind with nothing less than 250km/h
I remember when I crossed the border to Holland, traffic felt so safe
Back to Germany and thr trip becomes a race again. people driving like crazy where I live.
That may be one thing why the R gets no attention here. It`s not fast. Cars which make more than 250km/h get attention...

The BMW's are still catching you up....
But it only takes 30 minutes (at 240 km/h) to get from coast to coast, right?
I was at 8000 for 1/2 hour in 5th gear in Fl and when i drove up to NYC i was in the 6000-7000 5th (gear) range the whole way except for the beeping on the radar detector...
and it was loud at 8000 for the half hour, I was so comfortable i even took a pic of the speedo (pic in the link)
yeah yeah, not too smart but how many times will i do that???

How comfortable was the ride at top speed? Iguess pretty good, since you stayed there 5 hours.
I've done about 3 hours between 110mph and 120
