Default b16a vs. b18cR

ok heres my situation i have a 92 teg with a b16a in it with jdmgsr trans with lsd ok i want to know by may 1st i need a running car i was thinking going with the R swap because it has more potenal or i could bulid the b16a to the max what should i do have a b18cR with intake header back exhaust or a bulit b16a what will be faster by may 1st i make about 800$ a month im olny 17 so money is a issue but i have a grand saved and a b16a to sell so any opinoins

stick with the B16, it responds well enough to bolt-ons to justify keeping it, and if you need more down the road you can always ram air down its throa t

i would agree with looking at FI before swapping in a b18c5... atleast that is my opinion. would be a whole lot cheaper/easier.

is it really worth it to spend 5g+ on a type r swap when that could go into the b16? i say keep the b16... much better option.

Yea you already have a good engine to start with, or at least a good head. All you are really getting with the c5 block is oil squirters, and slightly higher displacement. An LS or B20 block would be much more cost effective, imo Not to mention you could go turbo with 5k easy..
