Default Taking off flywheel

What kinda tool do you use to take off the flywheel? There are like 8-9 bolts with a wierd style on it. Is it some sort of tool I can get from Advanced auto or sears?

17mm 12 point, and you'll probably need an impact, 1/2 inch drive.

I got mine from Mac cuz the truck comes to the dealer. The major companies have it, you can get it from sears but they might not have it in stock.

yea, u might need an impact for that. those bolts are know for stripping cuz there not that thick like a regular bolt. get the 12 point 17 mm socket -preferably a short one (also u can use a standard size socket, forgot what size it is though). get it in 1/2 inch drive and use a 1/2 drive impact gun to get it out. push ur weight on the gun and bolt and hit it with the impact to avoid stripping it. i hate flywheel bolts!

Stick a tranny bolt in and wedge a 2x4 piece of wood between the
the bolt and the flywheel.

That should be enough to keep the flywheel stationary
while you break the bolts loose
