Default SCP sponsorship

ok guys i got a call from Sports Compact Pro about a sponsorship but this is how it works they want me to pay $88 as some kinda fee but say that $79 of that will go to charity so its tax deductable.. and that they will cover 55% of all charges for parts and labor for my car and that i will have to attend atleast 4 shows within the year, sporting their 2 by 7" stickers... is that all seem normal for a sponsorship or is it a possible scam? help my out guys

If this is the same company that used to go by the name of Racer X motorsports, IMO I would not do it. That is because I got involved with them, if they are the same, three years ago and I declined the sponsorship due to lack of funds at the time I was called. Then they decided to go ahead and charge my account and send me the stickers, etc. w/o my permission. Also one of my friends were sponsored by this "Racer X" and the deals we definitely not worth it.

that's just my 2cents.

I had gotten the same thing and I almost signed the contract and sent it back to them. But I asked them how much their prices are to compare against prices of other places. They said that they cannot legally inform me unless I sent in the contract signed. Either way, why do you have to pay to get in on a sponsership in the first place.

Yes, it's normal. You're sponsoring them.

Well, if the "sponsorer" requires you to attend shows versus races, that narrows down the products they are selling you to show stuff.

Maybe you should buy one so that you can "rescue" it from the horrible world of car shows. *rolls eyes*

Sweet! Just make sure it's a show car that you pick up, so you can "save" it and bring it back to it's roots.
