it may not seem like a lot to some ppl. But for anyone who has been driving around for a year being able to see their strut in the rear view mirro this purchase made me very happy.
Also i can go and get the aftermarket Bracket for those 6.5 type-r's make them recessed into the door......Yummy....
Anyone else got some good finds recently at your neighborhood pick a part/junkyard.....This find made me pretty happy. now if only i could find a front DS fender in rio red.....I'd be done...

I love my junkyard because I bought a civic factory option armrest for $20 (still argued with them about that price lol) and later traded it for a pair of fenders and a crx heater control.

 

Did you get the 50% discount at ecology? i always go then because you get really good deals. Its always towards the end of the month.( in Chula Vista )

 

junkyards rule, If I told you all the stuff I have from the junkyard you would think I was full of crap. I even went today, twice.

 

Yeah, I love the junkyards. Right now there aren't any CRX's though, they all got crushed.

 

I got two black crx Si floor mats for $2.

 

i would have to say there are more pick and pull parts on my car than what came from the factory,the only thing original is the dash and the beack half of the shell

 

The only thing that I have ever got out of the junkyards around me were, waisting my gas to get to them...

I have never seen nothing ever worth to get, everything is gutted when you get there. Glad you are having luck though....

 

junkyards are great.... but if your going to the ones in so cal keep your car on lock down, i went to the one off penrose and tuxford and came out to some fools trying to steal my hatch. in broad daylight. but i got injectors for like 15$

Wish me luck, I'm going to my local junkyard tomorrow! BTW, anything I should look for on a Civic for compatible parts with my 1990 CRX? And what year Civics should I be looking at? I'm not expecting to find a B16 or anything like that. Like I said in a previous post of mine, I'd be happy with pretty much anything I could find!

 

i just got mint 4th gen civic floormats for $5. gsr gauge cluster for $15. gsr gauge cluster for $10. ek armrest for $2. i love the junkyard

 

That one speacker grill is cracked though, contact me next time because I have a place around here that I can get used parts for pretty cheap and there usually in great condtion.

 

one time i went there and there was an almost mint 91 CRXsi ..but they wouldn't let me touch it. The problem was that two of the three VINs didn't match so they had to destroy it


So far the only thing i've got worth while from the junk yard was a set of stock steelies for $20 each with decent tred still on them

hmm, armrest for $15.00 clock for free, heck foglight switch, and many more misc. stuffs

 

i've got many good deals at the junkyard by me, such as a rear integra disc + ex knucke swap for 120, and various interior pieces and such. oh, one time i got a brand new set of taillights , a climate control, like 3 shift ***** (including a polished wooden one, and one off a first gen civic) and some trim pieces for 20 bucks.

the trick i've found, make what you're getting look like trim or nothing important, and always ask people you know with stuff like pickup trucks if they need anything picked up. people around here are prejudce against kids with hondas, but if you're getting a mirror off an f150 too, theyre much nicer and give better prices.

they wanted like 250 for the brake conversion, but i talked him down to that because it was all the money i had on me.

 

I usually pick things up in our Ford truck for that reason.

Yeah!! I did see that old school Honda 600. The body looked pretty straight.

 

Wasn't the 600 one of the first Honda cars to be imported into the United States during the 60's or something?
