my climate control is cracked vertically between the heat **** and all the buttons. Is this hard to pull and replace? What is the degree of difficulty on it, or would someone like to do it for me for some cash compensation?

also, my friend told me that someone makes/sells little black covers to go over the cracks so you can't see them. is this true?

I had the same problem just take the center console out i think it only has 4 screws, take the screws out of the climate control and melt the back of it with a soldering iron until it is melted back together, you will barely be able to see the crack in the front
