Default Lost key to my bike, quick questions about key code for replacement.

I lost the key to my bike(929rr) and only had that one key. I got the trunk open by removing the front seat and reaching back and poping the lock. I then removed the rear seat lock because I was told there would be a code on it. Now my question: What is the format of the code for the key to be cut? The only code on the lock is in this format: #LL(Number, letter, letter) Is this the right code? Thanks for the help.

bring your title + ID to a dealer and they will cut you a new key.

I tried that and they said they cannot cut a key from the VIN#, I thought the same thing. Said I needed to find the keycode on one of the locks... Guess I will go back and ask what format the code will be in. Thanks for the response.

i know people with r6's had that same problem. they went to the dealership with all of the proper paperwork, but they said they couldnt cut a key without the keycode.

ima agree with usdm on this one. pull the ignition and either take it to the dealer or a locksmith. hope it works.

That sucks dude! From what I've read, the key code is a 4 digit number that's on the ignition switch. So pull that if you can.

Thanks dude, I figured it was a 4 digit code. I had a locksmith come out and get the 4 digit code off my integra(those keys were stolen too), and was hoping it would be on the trunk lock for my bike. Looks like it not... I wonder if the ignition can come off even though the handle bars are locked?? Ryan
