I have a 00 EX and just got a 99-00 Si cluster off a member on here. Those familiar with clusters know that they come with a top set of lights. It has one light connected in the rear of the cluster and a wire going to the top with 2 bulbs across the top of the cluster. Im guessing these are to make things brighter and amber. Well the the guy did not send that whole top part. I did not notice it at first and when I pluged in the cluster it was dim as hell and some numbers did not look lite up. So I took all the bubls and switched them from my EX cluster to make sure the bulbs were not burnt out. All the bulbs were the exact same in color. Some had blue condoms on them and the rest were clear bulbs. It still looked the same and still dim as hell. So I took out the top part that was missing out of my EX cluster and put that on the Si cluster. Now the lighting is a little different but its still dim as fawk. What can I do. I have PMed the guy asking why that was not in there and the coors are dim as hell. Should I go to Honda and see how much I can get that for, and will that solve the problem? Any help would be great.
If you look in this pic, its the goldish part at the top of the cluster inbetween the top two black clips.

Also the 6 and 7k in the RPM are not lite up or white. Im guessing its because I put the EX rear bulb that connects the wire to the top two across the gold strip. So Im thinking thats all I will need? But will that make the amber color correct and not dim. I have an Si cd player, and isint the cluster suppost to be the same brightness and color as the CD player? I have the dim switch on full bright as well so it's not that.

Ok cool, so what will taking off all the condoms do? Make it a lot brighter and more amber lol? I dont have any of the lights on the top...The one in the rear that has the wire that goes up top and has two light bubls up there. Is the Si top portion like that the same as the EX?
The EX and Si big bulb and two bulbs at the top are the same, except the EX cluster has a large condom on the big bulb. Yes, removing the condom will make the lighting brighter.

if i remember on my cluster, it's the actual cluster itself that lights up amber not the bulbs. so just take whatever bulbs are missing/burnt out from your stock cluster, take off the condoms, and put it in the si cluster. everything else should be the same.

I have the condome off the big buls. I dont think there are any more on the other ones. When I put it in, some cumbers were white..Then after 3 miles they turned amber, but some are brighter than the others. Anyone have a night time pic of there si cluster.
The gauge faces make it amber. Maybe the previous owner took alcohol to the back of the faces. Make sure you take all condoms off.
