Default sounds like..

there's a lyric from an outkast song that goes "sounds like aluminum cans in a bag"... that's what my exhaust sounds like but only at specific rpms. I mean, AT 1500 it rattles and AT 2100 it does the same. More often when the car's cold. did some one toss a quarter inside or something?? what's up with that?

oh yeah, i'm not an Outkast expert so if the lyric isn't correct, i still don't care.

Give some more details....Does it sound normal when the car is warmed up?? You might have a really bad exhaust leak...or you actually have a hole in your exhaust. If you don't have an actual hole, try replacing the gaskets!

okay, the noise is coming from the rear of the car and i have 4-2-1 headers so there's no heat shield.

all really excellent advise. though i don't think that's what it is considering.

No, theres a heatsheidl over the headers, but theres also one under the car above the catalytic converter. If its not the cat heat sheild, its likely pieces of the catalyst from inside the cat have broken free and are rattling around in the exhaust. I had a friend whos WS used to do the same thing unfortunately, and his did it not long after he purchashed it.

Wasn't there a problem with the 1st run of WS exhaust hitting the spare tire well? Maybe it was just the rear heatshield.
