Default Intake Cam vs. Exhaust Cam

Hello everyone I am a dumbass what is the purpose of doing one or the other vs. doing both. If doing only one which one would you for a bolt on modded engine.

Depends on your engine and if your NA or FI.. Since your pulling everything apart to do them might as well upgrade both of them..

but what would be the advantage of doing one over the other. You have to excuse my ignorance but i am trying to learn.

Wanting different lifts, durations, and overlaps.. Letting more exhaust out of a turbo motor will allow you to get alot more power so I have seen people that put a ctr exhaust cam in their motors for more power but leave the intake cam alone..
