trouble getting into reverse
I noticed recently when I am going to put the car into reverse, sometimes it doesn't allow me to like itll stop half way. When this happens I simply let go of the clutch and do it again, usually on the second try it goes into reverse no problem. There are also sometimes when I forget about this problem and go right into reverse and it grinds for a split second before getting into gear. This only happens when the car is in park and when I go to put it into reverse, and it only happens sometimes. Could this be a clutch problem like a spring not letting it completely engage? or could it be a problem of some other kind?

You have "park " ?
Common problem, I have seen it on many manual transmission cars.

I do this all the time and it works!

Yeah, this problem is quite common. My old GSR would so this sometimes. I would just shift is back to neutral and then try again. Oh and I know this might sound dumb, but are pushing the clutch in all the way? Because my ex used to complain about this problem and I found out she sometimes never push the clutch in all the way to allow for smooth shifting.

Isn't there a lockout as well? I think it was just habit for me (if the car was parked or stopped in neutral) to go to first before reverse.

no reverse lockout or synchro on the hondas I know either, they have a difficult shift gate to get into reverse, that is the lockout mechanism, gotta be real bad driver to pull that one off, 5 th gear down shift into reverse, lol

I don't think there is a lockout either, just some sort of notch in the gate to make it more difficult to go from 5 to R, even at a standstill. You can yank straight down from 5th, and it won't go, because reverse is just a little farther to the right.
Going from 4th to Reverse should work (err, grind because of no synchro). Edit, come to think of it, I've ground reverse while moving forward at 60+ MPH. That's lockout enough for me!
