Default what exhaust should i go with

5th gen currently stock. Want to run simply 4-2-1 headers, cat-back exhaust and intake. Any ideas on what brands i should go with on a budget? Probably go AEM short ram for intake, not exactly sure if the full CAI is going to be extremely better but you guys would know more than me. As for the exhaust i have a few systems im looking at but need some advice. Dont want to be extremely loud but have a nice tone at WOT. I have read the exhaust section on the basic accords section already but am looking for some experience advice also.

I had an Apex'i WS II, and I loved it. Very quiet, but had a nice tone when you hit higher RPMs.

if you want stuff on teh quiter end...

a'pexi WS/WS II is an excellent choice, though it sits fairly low, and might scrape if the car is lowered
rs*r exmag is really quiet as well, but alot more expensive....but it is full stainless, and looks pretty sick (black piping/muffler...polished tip)
probably the most cost effective way is to get mandrel bent piping from a place like kteller.com, and throw on a nice simple magnaflow or ES oval muffler....to really quiet it down, a 14-18" resonator will do....however, youll need to have the muffler and flanges welded.....best of luck

Greddy EVO will give you great ground clearance and a nice deep tone. Doesn't drone at freeway speeds. Nice tone at WOT.

If I were to do it all over again, I would go APEX-i N1 because I haven't heard anything that sounds better.

Tanabe Racing Medallion, looks great on the 5th gens. Sounds great too. I dont believe the N1 is offered for the 5th gens. I went through the WS, Power Extreme when it was offered and now the Racing Medallion and I have been more than satisfied.

DONT BUY A AN AEM V2 INTAKE!!! WASTE OF MONEY. Buy an aem short ram intake, greddy stainless steel header, and apex world sport II. Youll be money.

just dont waste money on a v2 intake taht will only get you 1hp peak more than a regular intake, not worth the money.

or how about don't waste your money on a header cause you aren't going to pull **** for power out of a stock motor (F22,F23) with one.

go with AEM short ram and an A'pexi WS

omg-if you are going to do one mod-make it an header, The difference with my greddy header on my f22b1 was night and day. Beach accord has weaksauce. (he put the license plate frame thing on he got with his intake, can you trust a ricer?)

I put the license plate frame on when I got one. Does that make me a ricer. Hmmmmm

Oh and the exhaust is more restrictive than the ex. mani so I would say the exhaust is worth it especially is he is ever wanting to swap.

everyone puts it on when they first get it, it took me a few weeks to realize that it was a ricer move. I am swapping soon and i have to get a different exhaust.......

on my 5th gen i was running aem cai, greddy 4-2-1 SS header, and greddy evo catback. the car was very responsive, but yet still an accord (no where near fast, fun to drive though). sound was very smooth. great tone.

Yeah i dont think i need the AEM V2. Sounds pretty cool from what ive heard but the gains arent worth the money. I would go with the full CAI but i'm worried about the filter getting too wet due to the design of my front bumper cover. The short ram i suspect will be just fine and at best, alot better airflow than stock.

I had an AEM CAI and i took off the cold air extension cause i got better response from the short ram with a custom ice box.

I've messed around with my exhaust on my car and this is what I did:

*Leave original cat on. Then I cut off the factory resonator and replaced it with a chery bomb. After that, I removed the factory muffler. It was kinda nosiy, but much quieter and deeper tone(No fart can sound) than stright pipes.

My next project will be two chery bombs inline and a DynaMax muffler at the end. If I'm right, this combination will be quiet and give off a deep tone.

The main reason I did this is because of performance increase, better sound, and because I'm poor. The first project cost me about 30-40 buck doing it myself. The second will cost somewhere around 100-120 tops.

or you can purchase a ex e. manifold and send it to a local machine shop to bore out the collector if you dont want to waste too much, the most that will cost is under 100$ for the manifold plus 55$ for the bore.

exhaust just make sure to stay under the 2.5 size piping range ... and def get 1 big resonator or 2 smalll ones cause youll get headaches as time passes... if its for daily grocery getter just get a nice magnaflow oe muffler and weld a tip, youll thank the backpressure later...

intake is just a intake, on ebay just email a few people for the intake tube sizing, a 2.75 would be the best for a 4banger, but majority of them is 3,,, but there are some people who sell ebay intakes with 2.75 sized piping...

in my experience, most to all intakes work the same and give you the same amount of gains. what i did was buy generic intake and bought a K&N filter dcsport 4-2-1 header and greddysp2 muffler with 2.5 stainless piping. nice and deep and not loud until i hit non-vtec. high rpms, haha jk. but then i went turbo and it sounds a lot nicer, im selling my dc sport 4-2-1 header for 200 bux, only used for about 2 months. pm me if interested

bendrel bent 2 1/4 pipping using a stock ex muffler
not really into the noise making unless its an ApexI N1

Just my 2 cents

The way I did it, and going to do again.... will look stock that will be louder than stock but a whole lot quieter that Apexi or anyother brands. I'm not bashing those bolt on mufflers, but they tend to be expensive and around here in Indiana, they gain a bad rep for being nosiy and irretating. But the way I had was to use your stock pipes(Don't have to) and add two cherry bombs where your cat and resonator goes. and where your factory muffler will go a new DynaMax Muffler.

This will be cheap, Sound good, and you won't earn the name "Ricer".

It's not offered as a cat-back. What you do is buy the N1 universal and order custom piping from Kteller and replace your cat with a resonator (i recommend Magnaflow). It will sound awesome!
