Default Throttle Body upgraded, worth it with my setup

89 Si hatch, D16y8 complete motor, P28, AEM CAI, Header, High flow cat, cat back exhaust, VAFC 2.

Reason being my MAP sensor is going bad, and its hella cheaper to just buy a throttle body with the MAP and TPS already on it.

Just curious if its worth getting a B16 Throttle body, or any other ones. Or just stick to a y8 one?

-TIA

You can if you want to. The extra power you will make won't be earth shattering, but its ur call.

if your not going to port match the intake manifold then you wont make any power anyways.

I have a disassmbled 1st Gen B16 TB (58mm) you can have if you pay shipping. It even has the TPS but is missing the spring and pulley. I also have the MAP sensor that mounts on the firewall as well. Let me know...

Truthfully, I don't think you will gain anything with a larger throttle body on such a mild setup. Considering its cheaper to buy a complete throttle body then search for the two sensors, go for it. To this day I never seen a honda make any kind of power with a throttle body modification unless it was some crazy built motor. If anything it might make your motor more responsive. If someone can prove me wrong please go right ahead.

You can use the stock map that is mounted to the firewall if you don't want to spend any money at all.

i also think the larger throttle bodies offer more throttle response rather than more overall power gains.

for your convience it sound like getting a TB with the map/TPS on the TB itself would be a better idea. if you get the parts with out putting a nice dent in your pocket...why not go for it.
