Default Longer fifth gear for my Si

Can anyone provide info as to how I can make my fifth gear longer in my Si. I like the first four, but cruising at 60 miles an hour with the revs at 3 grand is not my idea of fun, plus it would be nice to have some extra top end. Can I swap out the last gear from a DX? Any help would be nice. Thanks.

The DX 5th is the same as a Si 5th(different final drives)
An HF 5th will drop your rpms by about 400.
It doesn't sound like much and I was skeptical at first, but it does make a difference. So at 80mph in 5th, it floats right at 3600...instead of 4000.
Try driving at 3600 and then speeding up to 4000 and tell me there's not a difference.

Thanks for the advice, I think an HF fifth gear will be nice on the highway.

You'll like the highway cruise with the HF 5th, but you might not like the 4-5 upshift. There is more of a drop-off in revs on that shift, but it's not like I really use 5th gear for anything more than an overdrive anyway. How many times have I really needed to take it to redline in 4th and STILL needed to keep accelerating after I shifted to 5th?

Talk to member "dewarcr" to get more input on how it drives. We just put a hybrid tranny with the HF 5th in his CRX over the weekend. I've had mine since October '03, and I still love it.
