I am gauging interest in a paint shop near the dallas ft. worth area. i am moving from southern cali in a couple months and am thinking about moving my paint shop out there but i need to know if there is a good enough interest in that area for doing custom body work, conversions, full paint jobs (complete engine bay, interior, door jams), same color re-sprays, minor and major body repair at reasonable prices.

well im just trying to see if there will be enough to keep me going cause if i start back up out there im going to be getting all new equipment so i gotta know that im gonna have quite a few people interested

I would look into dent/hail damage repair. Texas is becoming the hail capital of the US...er..j/k... but we do get bad hail out here.

oh **** man i would totally help you out but i sold all my equipment cause i am moving so soon but if you need any tips on how to do it your self hit hit me up on here and i'll fill you in on whatever you need to know

dude i can tell u dallas has alot of body & paint shops,dont know about ft.worth.

if ur going to open a shop here, ur going to have lots of competition.
there r lots of shops here, whos prices start at 5grand, i've found some that charge 2grand with minor body work no door jambs or engine bay.
my cousin did his own body work & took it to maaco to get repainted for $285, looks good.but, time will tell if that was a deal.some guy last week told me he would repaint my car for $475 w/ minor ding work.but i dont think ill be happy with his work.
i've noticed for decent paint we'll spend here a grand or more and thats just for the exterior, everything else is extra.
so yea there plenty of shops here holding it down.

hey thanks for giving me the heads up on that it is probably about like it was where my old shop was the reason i got buisness was i charged about half of what the competition did for the same work

 

I think that you can get business.. specially since i read just about in the daily basis on peeps needing to paint, or have something done.. you should go to dallasimports.net.. is a local board.. also check out the one on my sig.

if you can give player prices... and do a good job...its guaranteed to get business...alot of hondas in the dfw area are always looking for a place to get the right price for paintjobs and etc. open one in arlington...youll have a few competitors but if you do it really good like youre supposed to... youll be fine.
