that said - Nitto555Rs are okay, but the BFGoodrich's are better.

What kind of racing do you want to do. Do you want to turn or just go straight?

azenis suck for drag. and thats what most street racing is. azenis sidewall is too stiff, they are meant for handleing. same goes for those advans unless they are specififcally a drag tire, but from the looks of them they are for better handling too. for drag you want soft sidwalls. if you are going to use a good tire make sure its specifically a drag radial or semi slick or whatever you wanna call it.

Nitto 555R or the BFGs for drag. cheap route 14" honda rims with all season yoko or falkens defalte to 15-20psi.
road racing/autox i prefer FalkenAzenis when heated, Kuhmo v700m all day, Toyo RA-1s shaved, in order by price falkens being the cheapest. but i think thats getting to complicated

wrong.
most tires have a compound that is stickiest at normal operating temperatures. a burnout gets them too hot - hence making them less sticky. drag tires DO need warmed up because they are made from a different compound.
next question, please...

you are pretty backwards on this stuff. the azenis like to be at full inflation because of their stiff sidewall. when they are low like that, the contact patch decreases due to cupping. also, falken azenis, otherwise known as "the winter autocross tire" - do best when cool. thats why you see people in the pits at racing events spraying their azenis with water. it gets the compound back into the optimal temperature range.

dude read before you post dumb things. the falkens i were to refering to are all season zeix's 14" size. i know what i'm talking about.
i know about azenis being too hot and worth dick at an event, i run them. like i said v700s all day for a bit more and RA-1s shaved if i could afford them.. people read and try to have a broad thinking on info before posting bullshit replies trying to demeanor someones intelligence to feel much higher. we as racers know what works and what works best. i know the difference too but not prepared to forfeit $$ to do it all the time.

...this thread sucks anyways.
asking about a good "street racing" compound... hahahha
that's like asking, which manifold will not blow it's welds in a 4 car wide street race... or which spring/shock combo will get my car low enough to drive under a trailer.
edit, this post wasn't directed at anyone in particular, well, maybe the guy who started it.

it does suck. but my best answer would be nitto 555r or BFGs for streetracing.
i condone streetracing in industrial areas, secluded low to no traffic roads and abandon airports.
i'm all about the track. but when winter comes i have to wait every 2 weeks to autocross. and i rather be able to be on track every week and autocross every week in different regions. i love it. so sometimes i'll end up at maple grove dragstrip and when thats not enough i will problably look for a weekday streetrace, just because it's in my blood. i know consequences as i lost my license 4 times. but it doesnt hurt my pocket (98/month for crx/teg insurance)

the fact of the matter is its not safe to tell people to inflate their tires to 15 psi for street racing. 15 psi isnt safe for anyone, anywhere. What if he has to swerve to avoid someone?? the tire will roll right off the rim at that pressure. 20-25 psi is more like it.
no offense meant to you - i just wanted to clarify things. yeah, i read the post a bit wrong. i still dont agree about the suggestion about "all season" tires - because grippier summer tires are available at the same price.
