Default Spoon drain plugs ????

Why does my spoon oil drain bolt not screw all the way in? Use both washers right? and it still has threads showing?

So that you have a new one come next oil change. They are crush-washers, only to be used once.

It's always good to know what all the parts are for before installing. Good luck!

I never have any problems with my Sp00m plugs, are you threading it in right?

Short is for tranny, long is for oil.

Two washers is because one each.

If you are having trouble threading it in, it is most likely the threads on your oil pan are damaged.

If it threads in fine, then what is the problem?

As posted from the start, It still shows threads. In other words its not fully screwing in. I even put both washers on just for curiosity and there was still threads....

As a test, try your stock drain plug and see if it goes in without a hitch, if so, then the threads on the spoon drain plug are damaged. If the stock drain plug also has trouble threading in all the way then you have a problem with the threads in your oil pan.

When i first got my Spoon drain plugs, they were installed by the Acura mechanic during and oil change. She put the oil plug in and asked me if i'm sure it was the right part. For some reason it wasn't in all the way and like the poster stated, there were still a few threads exposed. You just have to lay into it a little and it will thread all the way. The Spoon plugs must have more thread going into the pan or something like that.

Sounds reasonable, unless you're hitting the oil pickup or something... Can you peek in there to see if there's something in the way? It doesn't seem like there should be.

Hey, how come Leo S gets a title, and us suckers don't?

Very true. that was the problem. They were just really tight and I was only trying to NOT strip any threads.....

Exactly. For the record I have these plugs as well. No problem with them screwing in all the way.

Here's the story, I wouldn't have payed the price these things cost but I was searching eBay for magnetic drain plugs and ran accross these plugs claiming they were Spoon. Here it is..... Buy It Now $.99... I knew it was a typo and should have been maybe 19.99 but I hurried and clicked buy it now and payed imediately. Anyway he emailed me and said he made a mistake but would send it to me anyway since it was a fault on his behalf.... I never thought it would come but not only did it show up in 6 days, But it was a pair..... hahahahaha
