Weighed my EG today
Put it on the scale at a local metals place. It's a giant scale that you can drive semis on to. Car weighed 2000lbs with 1/4 tank of gas.

not bad at all. my 92 hatch weighed in at 2220lbs with me in it. full interior. no AC or front bumper support. sohc with a turbo kit in the engine bay. that was a year ago though. might be a little lighter now.
I dont get it. You lost an entire 200 lbs off the car and its basically a stripped car now and goes what? .2 seconds faster? I dont know what you gain ET wise, if there is a weight loss/faster ET ratio, but cool for you I guess?
Cut the roof of the car off, theres probably a few hundred pounds to be lost there.

a before and after of the weight would have been cool... 2000lbs seems like alot considering everything u took out. Mine must weigh damn near 3000lbs then... I have the same car by the way.... edit: but i have a single cam 75lbs less
mine weighed 2040, and all I took out was the passenger seat, carpet and rear seats, with a full tank.
That is a 94 cx with b series, full gsr brakes, heavy 14" wheels and tires, full exhaust, etc.

yeah it seemed kinda high, I was expecting/hoping for closer to 1900. like I said this was a giant drive-on scale designed for semi-trucks, it was about 40-50 feet long. I don't know how accurate it is with so little weight. might try to weigh the car again on a better scale. I need to buy a set of cornerweight scales...
Dont you think its a little weird seeing that your car came out to 2000lbs exactly? Usually those truck scales are within 50lbs like they weigh in 50lb increments.

.... no way and eg weighs 3 grand unless your weigh 600-800lbs or you carry a lot of **** in it i hope you were being sarcastic... if you have the dx with no p/s or moonroof your car weighs about 2200 stock... with no gas in it

and its every 100lbs is a tenth of a second off your 1/4mile time.. close but your doubling it...and getting peoples hopes up
corrected a lil if you got the wrong idea....
and also for the haters...sometimes its not the amount of weight its the center of gravity... less weight in the back more traction to the front end... 2000lbs isnt bad

Civics are notorious for too much weight up FRONT!!! You want to take as much weight out of the front, not the back.... Thats not the way to deal with bad traction...

Im not going to argue with you.. Im not saying dont gut your car but you want to take more out the front because its already over weighing the back....
And why do u think alot of sports cars are designed with 50/50 weight distribution wise asz...
