DX to OBD1 ?s
ok i have a 1990 jonda civic hatch dx it had never been messed with yet i want to put my 95 b16a in the car i already have a cable tranny obd1 computer and distributer aand i have a jumper harness for 0bd-0 to 0bd-1
since its a dx do i have to convert it to si then to obd1 or can i skip that step and just wire in the injectors to the harness and it will be ok ?
i cant see wiring up the resistor box jsut to take it back out.
any and all help is greatly appreciated thanks

yeah thats what i was thinkin
what about the injectors jsut wire them up like it was obd0 then the jumper harness would do the rest ?
anything with the distributer or anything like that

Distributor - you need to use the OBD-1 or an OBD-2 one for the correct signal to the ECU.
The plug will be differnt than your OBD-0 plug. Either convert to the correct plug or hack off the plugs and solder them to the harness wires (PS - just get the right plug).
The injectors on OBD-0 have one waire each that go to the resistor box. Then, those 4 wires go through individual resistors in the riesitor box, out of the box, combine together, and then go to the ECU as one wire.
So, what you do is take those 4 wires from the injectors and solder them together. Then (since you don't need the resistor box) solder them to the one wire that goes to the ECU.

so it would be much easier to jsut do that then so i put all four wires together but where in the ecu would it go like a pin number?
also after the distributer is wired then it would be ready to ride.
i think the only other thing i would have to do is the tps sensor switching the outside wires right thanks again

I don't know the ECU pin number.
If you were doing the OBD-0 conversion, you would have the resistor box and plug. The plug has 5 wires on it. You would take the yellow/black wires from the DX injectors, connected them together, and ran them to the resistor box. Then you would have conneceted the 4 red/black wires from the new injector clips to the resistor box plug.
Since you don't need the box, you take the 2 yellow/black wires from the DX injectors and connect them together. Then take the 4 wires (red/black) from the injector clips and connect then to the yellow/black wires.
PS - don't forget the 4 wire O2!

You know I have a 91 DX with an OBD1 GSR motor swapped in, running full OBD 1. But I cant even make sense of what 4drEF is trying to say. I'm glad I payed somebody else to make my OBD cnversion harness and custom engine harness **hint hint**
91crx but i heard vtec,
If you plan on doing your own engine harness listen to 4drEF, hopefully you can make more sense out of it then I could lol. However if you would rather have somebody else do it for you then it will make it a lot easier. Nikitad was the one that made my stuff, and I asked him to make it all plug and play for me. And that's exactly how the harness was setup...all I had to do was plug the engine harness into the corrct accessory and then I plugged it into the stock DX chassis plugs. Since it's not a good idea to mix and match OBD conversion harnesses with engine harnesses made by somebody else Nikitad made my OBD conversion harness as well.
Nikitad was the one that made my custom engine harness and my OBD conversion harness. Droppedcrxsi and Blown90Hatch might be able to do it for your too.

Well, 4drEF is exactly right, but its a hard subject to type/understand well. If you need any help with the wiring I can do it all for you for a good price. http://www.droppedcrxsi-wiring.com
You can email me with questions as well, thats fine.

LOL @ BlueShadow!
I know LOTS of people that are intimidated by wiring.
I'll just add you to the list
If you had all the parts (DX harness and OBD-1 injector clips) you would see the wires I'm talking about immediately.

(you need to copy and paste)
See how they labeled a wire at each injector with a 'C'?
Then, on the right, you connect all those to the injector resistor box?
Well, you take those four 'C' wires and solder them together and you are 1/2 way done.
For the other half you take a look at the DX harness where the 2 injectors for the DPFI are. You will find 2 yellow/black wires. Take them and solde them together. Then solder them to the 4 wires you soldered together from the injectors.
Done.

hehehe, I guess the part that confuses me at first is when people say that first you have to do MPFI then you do the OBD swap. I would probably understand it better if I even knew what all is done in an MPFI swap or an OBD conversion.
The main reason I didn't want to do my own wiring was time. I didn't want my car to be down for a long time, so I had my wiring premade and Nikitad set it up so that I only had to plug it in.

Time - I had lots of that!
I converted from DX to MPFI, then OBD-0 to OBD-1, and auto to manual all at the same time!
I even made my own jumper harness and custom engine harness (I used a depinned and deloomed Si harness and created a custom harness... that took some time.)
It did take a lot of time, but I understand all that crap now.
Was it worth it? Probably not... but then again nothing really is when it comes to cars. Sooner or later they all break.
