i hate my LS tranny!!!!
yeah the title says it all. i just got a LS tranny put in almost 30 days ago....and i hate it. yeah i got it for boost and yeah my engine is built up b18c1 power baby, but I JUST HATE THE DAM LS TRANNY!!! man the gears are so long how do you LS guys do it. i know its going to pay off though when i boost, but i just had to get that out of my system.
Hahaha.. I hate my damn tranny too. I got my LS because It was an Integra. But damn hehe the tranny had to be automatic!!
Ohh well, after it dies out one day, I'll power my car with a vtec engine/manual trans.

i m trying to model my car after the one on the SCC cover in 400hp club. i have everything engine wise. I saw he had an LS tranny and others have told me that the longer gears are good for boosting. and such but the LS tranny sucks
you should get a typeR tranny for that 200hp
Its going to be cool having (2) 200hp integras for a while heh.[Modified by 97blackteg, 8:49 PM 1/13/2002]

Dunno who sold u on that, but imo on any street car, you gotta have the gsr trans at least.. The only time this is a problem is when turbo guys running stock ecus (god forbid) use the gsr trans and are forced to shift at 7k..
But on a turbo GSR setup, I would have kept the tranny for streetability (u know beating people).. I love my trans with the bottle.. No traction until mid-3rd on the street, but when it catches, it's quite nice.. On the fwy, I coudn't imagine the LS setup, but I assume you are now seeing the light and helping others to also..

OMG I know. I fully build my LS engine to over 200 hp at crank, but it still feels kind of sluggish because of that damn tranny.

If you have a turbo engine putting down lots of hp, a GS-R or B16 tranny will be too short, the engine will rev too fast and you won't be able to keep up with it. LS tranny would work well in this case. It allows the turbo engine to "stretch its legs" if you will.
yeah just like Patrick says. thats the reason i bought it. i mean its alot of local people that have told me this also. and i want to get the most of the turbo im getting. but like said im modeling my car after the one on the mag. and he laid alot of power with that LS tranny though.
umm....I thought the GSR and LS tranny are the same in 1st and 2nd gear. Where does everyone feel the difference....after 80mph? Thats fantastic. I hope you all arent racing on the street past 80 mph unless you want to be checking in to a hospital any time soon or even worse finding a new or used teggy after you crash it
LS Tranny is great for boost..
you stay longer in boost, and thats where your making power on a FI setup. Check out the FI section, and do a search.. you'll get some answers.
I'll admit the ls-tranny sucks hard for NA setup, but its the best for boosted b-series.

Ls trannies suck. PERIOD. The ONLY motor they're good for is an ls w/ a stock redline. As far as the revs being too high.. You all are poosies...
it's a honda, not a domestic.

Again, if u drive it on the street, the GSR gearing/fd is soo much better than the LS.. I dunno, maybe u think that if u shift at 8k, that when the revs come down to 6k, you'll be 'out of boost' or whatever.. Enough guys have turbo now that issue is just not up for 'maybe this' and 'maybe that'.. The guys will tell ya, it's the way to go..
