Too All Tranny Heads… Quick Q about internals????
Ok, I bought a 90/91 LS tranny about 2 weeks ago and I noticed last night that the 2 final gears on the main and counter shaft gears aren’t meshed together. There’s a Ľ inch gap between them, I also noticed that all the other gears are meshed except the 2 final gears.
What are the possibilities that the someone swapped out the last final (5th) gears prior to selling me the tranny? Or is it normal that the 2 final gears aren’t suppose to be meshed?

sounds like a problem ... they should mesh like the others ... problem is, even if swapped the difference in other tranny 5th gears is the number of teeth and not necessairly the diameter ... they could have used another counter 5th gear (its the smallest for any honda tranny) ...
