Default swaps for civic lx

I found a really cheap '96 civic 4 door lx. Does anyone know what would be the best swap for it and which would fit the easiest. I already read the "what swaps will fit my civic" and I couldn't find any useful info. Any suggestions are appreciated.

read that and when you decide on a swap then search for it and read the threads already made about it.

Well, the cool thing about civics is that they are so interchangeable with each other. If you feel like high horsepower, the best and most common swap is the B16A swap from a SI. It has 160 off the bat, only thing is that it sucks in torque. In that case, if you feel like it, a LS engine (B18) is a good one that is relatively torquey, though it comes with a lower 140 horsepower. I recommend this swap myself. If you have the cheese, a different swap is the LS vtec, or even a GSR engine. The LS vtec is cheaper than the GSR, but not nearly as good. The GSR's internals are known for being rather stout and it runs, correct me if im wrong someone, a 15.5 sec quarter mile stock. If you are REALLY financially well off, you should consider the new K series, the K20 being in the newer civic SI and lower RSX/Integra and the K24 being in the JDM Type R civic and the Type s RSX. Hope i helped you out some, just hit me up for more info. Mods may be necessary to fit the K series in ther, im not sure, but the B series should be no prob, just make SURE, PLEASE, that the engine is in good condition.

these "which swap is the best" threads are horrible. tell us what your budget is, and what the intent of the car is. this will help. everyone is going to get in a big disagreement about which motor they think is "best". personally i disagree that the best swap is the B16. i would rather have a sohc
