Default E-Brake light is a pain!

This problem just started yesterday. I get in my car and pull out of my driveway and roll a couple of feet forward and bam!, the red 'BRAKE' light comes on. I panic and think that I'm driving with my e-brake up so I stare down at the lever, and it is all the way down. I was like WTF! I then say damn, must me a malfunction, so I continue to go to work. As I drive, it sometimes turns off but also comes back on. I think it might have to do something with me pressing the brake to slow down or when I hit a bump on the road. Well has anyone experienced this problem before? I would like to fix this problem asap since that red light is soo annoying. Well if anyone can help me out, give me a post. Thanks.

Did you check your brake fluid level?

besides the light coming on for low brake fluid warning... does it also have anything to do with abs system failure?

I do believe there's a separate warning light for ABS.
Definately check the fluid level, and top up as much as possible.
I've experienced this myself, as well.

In hindsight, it's also a good idea to check brake pad wear.

The float sensor in my master cylinder is touchy, if the fluid level is anywhere below totally full the light comes on. I practically went crazy looking for why my e-brake wasn't completely releasing before I tracked that down. The brake light still comes on sometimes when the car is cold.

Also as your brake pads wear the amount of fluid in the master cylinder drops. You probably need to add some brake fluid anyway.
