i acutally am deciding between a '05 civic si and a '05 v6 6spd. the closest dealership to me is getting a v6 6spd in about the end of Feb. so i'd figure i go over there around then and try both the accord and Si out. i know there is a big price difference between them but i dont know if i acutally want to spend all that money on a accord.

Id get the Accord. In the end you'll still get more outta the Accord than the Civic if you were to resell it.

I owned a 2005 v-6 coupe 6 speed for about two weeks but had to return it. Cost too much money.. As far as the car was concerned it drove beautifully. The shifting from 1st took a little getting used because of all the power "240HP" but wasnt bad at all. The 6 speed is great. Driving down the freeway at 80 + was like silk. If you got the dough to spend Id say go for it. As for me, I went with the four banger and big part of me regrets it.

i dont have the greatest record in the world... so i was paying about 860 dollar every 6 months. On the 4 banger, Im paying only about 50 dollars less. I think the insurance companys are worried more that its a coupe... therefore a sports car. If you have an excellent driving record, Id recommend going with ESURANCE. I was playing around on there web site, and if I had no prior enteries on my record I think I would've only been paying about 450-500 for full.
When ur getting the car, remember to be ruthless with the dealer/salesperson. Its a buyers market right now and should be able to get a great deal.

well i am 17 years old and i have a perfect record with no flaws. well ive already asked the salesman what the sticker price is for the v6 6spd that theyre getting and he said it is $27,300. so i plan on trying to get it for around $24,500. so u think that it sounds like a reasonable figure or should i try for lower/higher?

well truthfully i would shoot for something like a evo 8 or a STI but insurance will be crazy no matter what i decide on being that i am 17.

im not sure about now, but i remember when the 03's and 04's first came out, it would be a steal to get them for 27k around here at least......as for the HFP package(s), id suggest the aero kit and wheels, but not the springs....they are very soft, and barely drop the car....all for the cost of decent basic coilovers (i think TEIN might make coilovers for the 7th gen, as the Accord Inspire or w/e they sell the USDM v6 over there badged as, is almost selling better than the JDM accord (tsx)

I have a red 2004 Accord Coupe V6 6 Speed. I love it!!
I have to sell it now after having it 9 months and 11,000 miles later.
If your interested, let me know. I think I owe a little more than 24K on it.

Are your parents buying it for you or something? If it were me and I had that type of money, I sure as hell wouldn't buy an accord. But it sounds like your parents are buying it for you.
You're going to test drive a car before you buy it, I would hope, so just wait until the test drive and see what happens. It's not like you have to buy the car the same day. Take some time to think about it. For 24k, I could find you a much better and faster car than a v6 accord, but that's just my opinion.

this is why i think test driving the car you're interested in is a crucial factor in making a decision. i mean while the things me and these other guys are saying might be factors towards your decision, but your own judgement on what you want should be the most important consideration.
just keep shopping around and keep your options open. don't have the "i'm getting a honda no matter what" attitude. who knows? you might find the dodge srt-4 to your liking a lot better than a v6 accord. it's totally up to you.

i will be purchasing it on my own, every penny of it. the only part my parents would come in is for the insurance part, i would be under their policy/name for a cheaper rate but i still am going to be paying for my own insurance as well.
i would have already test driven a v6 6spd but the dealership closest to me rarely gets them and the next one they are getting is coming at the end of Feb. beginning of March. so the salesman already has my name and all my info and he said as soon as the car comes in on the delivery truck i will be called.

Good luck. As far as I know there isn't 3000 in mark up in the sticker so you probably ain't gon get it at that price but like say 27500 OTD then maybe. If they're getting one in in Feb then you bet your *** they sell them as soon as they come in and they won't take a loss, trust me. I work for a dealership.
If they had them piled up out on their lot, you could get it for invoice. If your ordering the car, my guess is you wont get much of a brake on the price. Because the 6-spd V6 is a more rare commodity.
If I was 17, I wouldn't pour all my money into a car. put a down payment on some real estate, or buy 250 shares of VFINX w/ .20 expense ratio. An pricey new car for somebody just starting in life is a mistake.... just IMO.
