How much is a 2004 mint Gsx-R 1000 frame worth??

I have one and am selling it and was wondring how much i can get for it?
i was told by one person 500 and then from another 1500??

Im reall clueless on this one.. any help is awsome

Retail new its like 2g's, but you can probably find get it new from ronayers for like 1500-1700 so thats from a reputable oem dealer. I'd say youd probably get like 500-1000 for it. The main thing is trying to find a buyer, frames arent one of hte more sought after thing. Try selling it to a racer than trashed his frame.

 

See i was told a salvage title frame goes for about 500, and that i could sell the legit title mint frame for over a 1000$.. anyone else have an opinion?

 

how did you end up with a mint 04 frame? Schu's right; its closer to $500 unless you have a clean title + the frame checks out on a computrak.

IMO, salvage frames are worth nothing. why would you want to ride on a frame that is most likely tweaked? it's all in finding a buyer anyways. can't really ebay it because they shut down auctions for frames + titles.

Parting it out Due to a front end collision... sued the guy got lot of money so parting the bike out for more money...

I just want to know how much to ask for the frame.. so what is everyone saying 500 +?

How bad was the front end collision? (Wait a minute... I already know the answer to this one.) Got pics of the wreck and the frame?

 

I need to get in an accident and not get hurt and write off my damn car so i don't have to lose like $6,000 when i sell it

 

I have pics on the comp i need them to be hosted..

it totaled the front end of the bike from frame back is mint, just the forks, wheel, radiator, triple tree heatlight and bars are fucked..

 

Getting into accidents are no fun at all..
Espically when its on a motorcycle and you have road rash.. it ****** burns when u shower and just hurts when you try to sleep

 

Ebay will tell the truth... some aluminum frames are getting in excess of $1k and your's may fit that bill, but some are not... So there ya go

Nobody, about to spend $1000, is just gonna take your word for it. Probably want to lower the price or spend some cash to get it checked out for proof. My 2 cent.

or when you need 100k in knee surgery. (my mother, not i.) i was in the same car and was alright. money is alright but it can't undo bodily harm.

 

Be careful selling it on Ebay and outta state - I've heard some nightmares bout selin frames.

Saw the Frames on ebay going for between 1500-2200$ i was amazed...

Looks like ebay is going to be my way out because thats some nice money for a frame..

 

The reason why people are paying 1500 or better for legit bike frames is because if that frame has a clean title they can go out and steal a bike just like it swap everything over to the purchased frame and take the title down to the tag office and bam a new bike and it only cost 1000-1500 dollars.My mom works in the fraud dept at allstate and this is a common prob.

 

If i am not mistaken when you buy a new frame from ron ayers, or any oem dealer I dont beleive there is a vin number on it. I believe they restamp your vin on the new frame. So when thieves steal a bike they can buy a new frame for xxx dollars from the dealer but they still do not have a valid vin/title for it. If the bike had any front end damage I would make sure that the steering head isnt tweaked/damaged. It isnt hard to do that especially on an aluminum frame. I would look into that before deciding how cheap to sell it.

Many states will not let you rebuild a salvage title. In those states, salvage title vehicles are good for the track and stunting on private property and that is it....

Of course some people are going to tell you it is only worth 500 bucks because they want to get a killer deal.
