Does anyone know how a 95 prelude si will hold up against a 97 ford contour v6 (se model)?

Stock for stock I've heard that the Contour is comparable to the H22 VTEC.

Yes, maybe a SVT contour.. This is just a v6 special edition, probably an auto...

 

A Ford is a Ford is a Ford is a Ford, :D thats what i always say, seriously though I dont know of the differences between trims. I looked them up on http://www.cars.com a long time ago. but if the SVT is the top of the line then you know what that means....

 

A guy in the car club that I race with has an SVT. It's not close to the H22A VTEC.

We all consider him to be slow, but it doesn't really matter what my experiences or the guys on PO's experiences are. Every race is different.

EDIT: It sounded like you were making a generalized statement when you said that the SVT "It's not close to the H22A VTEC" I might have misinterpreted it.

So i guess all you are saying is that the Ford Contour Se will hang with an Si or the Contour will beat the Si??? which one is it?

 

We know he's a good driver, he's just in a slow machine. You have to realize that speed is relative and to us a good car runs low 13s. Now other people consider low 13s slow. I run high 14s and I consider myself to be slow, not as slow as some, but still slow.

not a chance i just want to know (car wise) how they stand up against each other.
now if its up to the driver i got nothing to worry about.

 

It's always up to the driver to win or lose a race. Practice your launches before hand and if you lose, get more mods.

that contour is slow. ive driven one before...go for it and destroy it

yea...contour...sorry about that. i like the focus svt and maybe a nice zx3.

 

I'll tell you this dont under estimate the ford, because i had a pretty hooked up zx3, i've raced contours they arent all that weak, the V6,SE's are pretty peppy i woulnd't challenge a SVT though you will have trouble there, thats like going up agains a SHO taurus.

 

Well, many of the fords now are ugly...i dont like the contour or the focus....but the Mustang is still the best

 

My friends and I say whoever you race with, eithers its a Geo Storm or a Viper. Race it the best you can and find out the true potential of your car. Good luck on your race against the Contour.

 

my friend has a contour V6 SE. it is slow as hell. you can take him.
as for SVT's, they're not that fast... i beat a few in my prelude before, but they're not slow either.
