Brake light in cold temps
I have an 2001 Accord EX. In the wintertime when you first start the car and the engine is cold the BRAKE light comes on when you start the car and will stay on for 5-10 minutes until the engine heats up. There is no issue with brake performance when the light is on. Something to not worry about? Thanks
Probably 200 threads about this...
There's 2 things that set off that warning light.
1 - Little switch button under the handbrake lever. Maybe it's broken or the bracket is bent. If the handbrake lever doesn't press the button, the light stays on.
2 - Low-fluid warning for brake fluid reservoir. Maybe you need fluid? Or maybe the float switch (in the brake fluid cap) is going bad?
