Curry Acura gets a thumbs up from me
Short story:
I ordered a new transmission(ITR S80) from Curry Acura(Scarsdale NY) and it arrived from UPS in a box with holes all over it. The tranmission was fine with exception of two things:
1. Bolt hole where clutch slave piston thingy goes was pinched due to tranny being dropped. After carefully working a bolt through the hole and some dremmeling it was fine.
2. One of the motor mount bolt holes where the stud goes in had a small crease on it. I didn't think anything of it because the hole was intact. After torquing that stude down the hole "split" down the middle. At this point I was pissed.
So the tranny is in the car and works fine. I call Curry Acura expecting to get the runaround or to be told to deal with UPS but quite the opposite happened. The parts guy is sending me and outer casing free of charge and "when I get around to it" to ship the damaged one back. No questions, no demand for pictures showing the damaged parts. Just my word of mouth. He was very apologetic and really tried to make things right. I just hought I'd pass this along.
Thanks Curry Acura

From my experience, they are better than just "ok". I've owned Hondas/Acuras for over 12 years and dealing with Curry has been one of the best experiences I've had. I also understand that other people have different opinions.

Curry Auto Group which includes Curry Acura are below par imo.
Their Sales department are the worst crooks out there. I got f*cked over there years ago and will never return. When my R was totaled, it was towed to Curry under the TLC program, I requested it be stored indoors for obvious reasons. They said they could not. When I arrived to meet the insurance adjuster, my mats and shift **** and CD's were missing already.
My wife got f*cked over by their Honda sales division years ago before she even met me. Countless people I know loathe Curry Group for many similar and various reasons.
Their Service is marginal at best. About the only helpful and friendly person in their Service department I recently saw up North at Acura of Bedford Hills Service desk so I guess they lost him.
I've had friends that have worked at their service departments as either a tech or mechanics and told of some pretty crappy stories of bad policy and or misleading and shoddy business practices.
Their Parts department I only had limited dealings with and were average for the area. Nothing spectacular but at least helpful and not totally condescending and rude as many parts departments are.
If Curry Acura were graded against the nations best dealerships as a whole they would surely fail.
Extremely good, friendly and helpful dealerships that come to mind for me are Manchester Honda and Schaller Acura, both outside of Hartford, Ct.
If you had good dealings with Curry then count yourself lucky.
