Default cam journal scar'd, what are my options?

This is the cam cap for #1 exhaust side, on the head this journal is noticably scar'd up. It feels pretty deep with your finger nail, on the head i believe thats the only one...ill have to feel them again. On the otherhand the caps, just about all of them have noticable lines and scars.

What do i do? What are my options on that deep one? Cost?

I've searched and the very few topics on this, the answers are not really conclusive.

you ould have the machine shop shave the bottom and line bore to specs covering the scratches.
But i would just plastigauge vertically and horizontally and if it checks out ok i would leave it as is.
the cam caps are always a little worn.

cam to cap clearance = .050- .089mm limit is .15mm
if you want to have the bore size for the cam holder; you gonna have to measure it. the machine shop will be able to measure it if you want to line bore.

the cam looks a little messed up; plastigauge and see tolerances.
when you plastigauge do it in different places on the cam test parallel and across of the cam so you can see tolerances in more spots

you might just be able to get another pair of cams and use those.

that wouldnt be a huge deal if these were run of the mill b16 cams,

but they are type r's

It only feels rough in one spot, kinda wavy.

Im gonna take it to a different machine shop tomorrow for an opinon, i appreciate your help. I know its hard to give good advice with out stuff like this being in your hands.

Took the head to abacus today, 2nd machine shop. They said if i run that head with that cam journal its gonna just give me problems. The cam it self is one thousandths smaller then the other journals on the cam. It's out of round..

aka its fucked and i need a new exhaust cam. The journal is chewed up, and both shops recommend me run a different head.
