MAP Sensor Related:

Motor: D16y8 OBD 2
Engine Harness: 88-91 Si OBD 0
ECU: P28 OBD 1
Conversion Harness: OBD0-OBD1

Question: According to the Haynes Manual for the ENGINE.....96-00 SOHC Vtec when checking the MAP sensor, you remove the plug, and check for 5 volts (reference) at the plug. Useing a Volt meter, insert positive lead into "3" and negative lead into "1" and see for 5 volts present. If I do so, i get 4 Volts. If I put positive lead into "3" and negative lead into "2" I get 5 volts.

Hmmmmmm: The manuals for 92-95 or 88-91 say that the 5 volts should be gotten from testing "3" and "2" which is what I get. So does that mean that the MAP sensor itself is not getting the correct volts at the correct leads?

I was under the impression that ALL honda MAP sensors were the same.

probably reading from wrong side, often Haynes shows the pigtail connector side instead of sensor, maybe your 3 is 1?

Wouldn't matter, just then the voltage would be a negative value instead of a postive one. My PLUG on my harness acts as if the MIDDLE prong is the ground.

And that is CORRECT(middle prong ground) for my stock harness, as well as the P28....HOWEVER according to the Haynes, on the y8 motor, the 1 is the ground, and 3 is the 5 volt lead.

So im thinking the MAP sensor itself is getting voltage to the wrong prong.
