I'm taking a half day off from school on Friday to go with my mom and pick my dad up.
He's been at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital for 3 weeks now. He started losing his vision in his left eye lasy April, but it wasn't very much.
A couple months ago his left eye vision started getting really bad so he was sent to Wake Forest to get checked up. They couldn't figure out what it was so he was sent home and put on baby aspirin.
Some of you might remember the post I made about the book I got for him thats been out of print for a long time.
Well, that was the last book he will ever read that isn't blown up with a projector. A couple weeks ago his right eye started doing the same thing so he was admitted to Wake Forest. My mom took the book Bulldozer to him so he could read it. His right eye vision is just about as his left eye and he cannot read or drive. The doctors are still doing test and do not know what is causing it, but they have a few ideas. Some being **** I can't pronounce let alone spell, and one idea is MS. He is on disability right now from work (General Motors Area Service Manager) and will more than likely have to take a medical retirement.
It really is getting on my nerves since he can't read, and might not be able to do the woodwork, HO scale train, and gardening he has been wanting to do for a long time. I'm just glad he got to read the book in time and that he is coming home since the stay there has really drug him down.
Who knows, maybe I can talk my mom into driving him out to Expo as a surprise vacation so he can see me drive.
Sorry for the OT but this forum is my H-T home.
