2.2L 240 hp I4 --------------------------------2.0L 240 hp I4
Horsepower 240 @ 7800 RPM ---------------240 @ 8300 RPM
Torque (lb-ft) 162 @ 6500 RPM -------------153 @ 7500 RPM
2.2 Peak Horsepower comes @ 7800RPM
2.2 peak torque comes sooner @ 6500RPM while the 2.0 still had no torque till they reach 7500RPM which take damn forever, if u ask me.
older models = u really need to flog the car to get that torque

Different Strokes....literally.
Same 87mm cylinder bore though.
F20C has 84mm stroke while F22C has 86mm stroke.
Yes, the MY '04+ are more refined. I love the wider OEM wheels.

I have not driven the 2.0 anywhere near as much as our 2.2, but i know my friend who has had his 2001 for years now (bought it brand new) drove ours and said he really liked the feel of the power more in the 2.2, said it felt much more drivable than his for just normal street driving, but he said he preferred having the higher redline and enjoyed slamming it up towards 9K instead of having to shift at 7800.
I think they are both incredible cars, and if it came down to a 2003 and 2004 S2000 in New Formula Red and i myself had to choose one, both with zero miles, id probobly choose the 2004 for asthetic reasons alone, because im sure id have equal positive and negative remarks on both cars...

Wise choice. You got the non-watered down S.
And no one tell me it wasn't watered down, because it was. Although the 04 is still a great car, it's not the same car anymore. It's now a convertible for everyone, not for someone who wants to beat the crap out of their car and rev to 9000rpm daily. That 9k mark was a distinguishing feature of the car, now it's no longer there.

other then the 9k mark that distinguishes the car...here are some more facts that distinguish the car that no other car has..
120hp per L = highest output ever in a production car..
fastest NA 2.0L in the the world.....
